In November 2014 Old Saybrook began to review the sustainability plan for the town. It has been nearly 6 months since the kickoff of the town sponsored CT Solar Challenge campaign. Our main goal was to educate residents and give them the information they needed to make a decision on whether or not solar makes sense for them.
During the six months over 161 homes were evaluated for solar by Aegis Solar Energy, the installer chosen for the program by the town. As a result the town has earned a solar array for one of the municipal buildings.
While incentives on both state and federal levels are still available, but have an uncertain future, CT Solar Challenge is offering another solar workshop June 4th, 6-7:30pm at the Acton Library. Please register to attend this event at CTSolarChallenge.com/Old Saybrook or you can email Maggie@ctsolarchallenge.com.
